BBT Go!Connect Privacy Policy

Thank you for visiting a website of Biblical Business Training, Inc. (“BBT”). Protecting your privacy is very important to BBT.  We recognize the importance of your privacy, and we provide this notice to help you understand our commitment to privacy, what kinds of information we may gather about you when you visit our website(s) and/or mobile applications (“BBT Platforms”), how we may use that information, and how you can correct the information.  Please note that this Privacy Policy is separate and distinct from the privacy policies governing the web sites of any third parties that you may link to from the BBT Platforms.

Information We Collect

Automatically Collected Anonymous Information

When you visit a BBT website, certain information about your visit is collected, which may include information about your IP address, domain name, browser type, mobile device type, access time, and referring website address. This information is not personally identifiable and is not used to personally identify you.

Personally Identifiable Information

Personally Identifiable Information (“PII”) is any information about you as an individual that would enable someone to contact you; for example, your name, address, telephone number, or email address. The BBT Platforms may request such information when you subscribe to an email newsletter, log-in as a group leader or participant (or other visitor-type which may not yet be established), or log-in for another other product or service, participate in any online survey, post a comment, enter a contest or sweepstakes, or use a service or tool included in the BBT Platforms, such as emailing a page from the BBT Platforms.

The BBT Platforms will not collect any PII about you unless you or your group leader provide it. Providing any PII in connection with your use of the BBT Platforms is voluntary.  If you do not want the BBT Platforms to obtain any of your PII, do not submit it.

Within the Go!Connect area, you may submit information about other people. For example, you might submit a prayer request or an update about a prayer request for your BBT group.  This information can only be seen by your BBT group, your BBT group leader, the BBT coach, the BBT ministry staff, BBT ministry partners, and the BBT Services administrators, and will not be used for any other purpose.

You can visit and browse the BBT Platforms without revealing any PII, but you may not be able to access the Go!Connect area containing certain content, features or services if you choose not to disclose PII.

How We Use This Information

Aggregated information may be used in many ways. For example, the BBT Platforms may combine information about the usage patterns of visitors to learn which pages are visited most or what features are most attractive. In the future, aggregated information may occasionally be shared with advertisers and business partners, but BBT will use its best efforts to prohibit such information from being used to contact you individually.

PII you provide voluntarily is used primarily for communication within your own BBT group(s).  It may be used to improve the content of the BBT Platforms, to fulfill your requests for any products and services, to correspond with you, or notify you if you win a contest prize, to notify you of updates to the BBT Platforms, shared with agents or contractors who assist in providing support for our internal operations, transferred to a successor entity in connection with a corporate merger, consolidation, sale of assets or other corporate change respecting the BBT Platforms, used to contact you for our or other reputable organizations’ marketing purposes, and shared with third-parties for marketing purposes. (Email marketing promotions are sent via a third-party system, MailChimp.)

BBT may use PII to provide Internet security, to meet legal requirements and to protect against misuse or unauthorized use of the BBT Platforms. As a result, BBT reserves the right to cooperate with law enforcement officials in the investigation of alleged unlawful activities committed on or through our websites. BBT may disclose PII in the course of law enforcement investigations or as required to comply with a current judicial proceeding, court order, warrant, subpoena or other legal process. Further, in the event of a suspected attempt to deliberately circumvent the BBT Platform security with the intent to gain unauthorized access or to do physical damage, BBT may share PII with law enforcement officials. BBT shall have no legal liability for such disclosures. Notwithstanding any of the above, BBT reserves the right to challenge the validity of any subpoena, court order, warrant or other legal process, in its sole discretion.

If you choose to post any content on a BBT Platform, any information you submit may become public. It may become accessible through search engines or, if you sign in using credentials from a third-party social networking or other software or service, it may become accessible to users on that platform. Unless otherwise noted, the BBT Platforms do not limit the distribution of information that you share using these features. BBT is not responsible for any personal information you choose to make public via these forums, and you agree that such sharing will be deemed to have been permitted by you, not BBT. If you prefer not to have your information published, do not submit it.

If you choose to submit content for publication (e.g., a letter to the editor), BBT may publish any information you have provided, by any means or medium. If you prefer not to have your PII published, do not include it in your submission.

If you wish to opt out of the use of your PII for marketing purposes, please let us know via email, and reference “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the subject line to: admin@b-b-t.org.

Cookies & Web Beacons

Cookies are a technology that helps us serve you better. A cookie is a string of characters that can be written to a file on the user’s hard drive when the user visits the web site.  The cookie can be used only as a record keeping device to store user IDs and information that the site already has.  A cookie does not collect personally identifiable information. We use cookies to help us know when and how many people visit the BBT Platforms; to store your personal preferences, in order to provide you with the best experience possible; and to record session information. For example, cookies allow BBT to remember a user’s registration information while logged in, and allow specific information to be recalled to save the user time during subsequent visits to the BBT Platforms.

Third party service providers and advertisers may also use cookies to manage and measure the performance of advertisements displayed on or delivered by or through the BBT Platforms and to provide more relevant advertising. See "Collection of Information by Third-Parties, Ad Servers, and Sponsors" below for more information.

BBT, our third party service providers or advertisers may use web beacons or similar technologies, alone or in conjunction with cookies, to help compile information about and facilitate usage of the BBT Platforms, including usage of certain content.  A web beacon is an electronic image, which may be hosted on another website and may also be known as a single-pixel (1×1) or clear .gif., which can be used to recognize certain information allowed by your browser, such as cookies, the time and date of a page viewed, and a description of where content is placed.  For example, web beacons may be used to count the users who visit a web page, open an email newsletter or deliver a cookie to the browser of a visitor viewing a web page.

You have the choice to set your browser to accept all cookies, notify you when a cookie is set, delete cookies periodically, or reject all cookies. Please be aware that rejecting all cookies may prevent you from enjoying the full features offered through BBT’s and other websites. Check the "Help" section of your browser for more information.

Collection of Information by Third Parties, Sponsors and Ad Servers

Advertisers, product retailers, and websites that have links on the BBT Platforms may collect information directly from you if you click an advertisement or link to visit another website. This Privacy Policy applies only to information you provide to us and not to any information you may provide to a third party. Please consult the privacy policy of any other website you visit to know what information they may collect and how they may use it.

BBT sometimes partners with third parties that operate websites and services you can use. For example:

A product retailer may offer BBT logoed apparel through BBT’s website. By virtue of these relationships, these third party retailers may obtain PII that visitors voluntarily submit. We have no control over these third parties’ use of this information. Consult the third party website to determine whether these third parties will obtain such information.

The BBT Platforms are general audience websites, and we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13.  Any information collected online by BBT from children under 18 is used only for the purpose of delivering the requested product or service. Please instruct your children to ask you for permission before providing any information about themselves to BBT, and visit the Federal Trade Commission website for more information about safe online surfing.
